Boat trips
Any traveller may call oneself lucky if one has the possibility to visit the wonderful world of the Tisza Lake. Our guides will take you on traditional fishing boats on a trip across the gentle waves of the Tisza river and show you the beautiful coastal forests and the various birds of the area.
We’ll guide you through lesser and greater channels to the endless surface of the calm water of the reservoir that is surrounded by dried out but still intact trees to create a landscape like no other. The backwaters have an even richer flora and fauna. Plant and animal species, some of them already protected have reclaimed this beautiful area according to ancient laws of nature. The tour lasts for approximately two hours and encompasses a distance of about 25 km.

Kormorán marina is a great central camp for angling trips. Here you can rent a fishing boat (with or without an engine), and licences and guides are also offered on request. In the river-basin that crosses Tisza Lake and in the surrounding reservoir almost any angling methods are allowed as the place offers a variety of fishes.
Almost any native species allowed for angling may be found here, starting with the trench hiding among the water lilies, the vivacious asp, or even the coveted giant catfish. This is an ideal habitat for them. During the whole season 6000 hectares of open water and an accompanying 3000 hectares covered with sedge and bulrush offer an aquatic world of exploration for anglers. The beauty and the romanticism of the area affects both the occasional guest and the regular angler. And because of this, a carp caught under the shades of the trees on the bank, the long fight with the pike at one of the backwater sites, or a walleye placed onto the boat with frozen hands offers so much more.

The flora of the lake is quite rich. There is an extensive water chestnut population here, that is quite rare in Europe and as such it is protected, and the coast is usually covered by sedge and bulrush. One can also find here reed mannagrass and several species of kelp. On the surface of the water duckweed, floating watermoss frolics, during summer large colonies of water lillies and nuphar flowers. The drier patches of the floodplain is inhabited by willow and poplar.
White willow and grey poplar is a native species here and both can be easily recognized by their silvery sheen on the back of the leaves. Insectae are represented by colourful dragonfly and the day fly that requires absolutely clear water and is strictly protected.
The swampy, plant covered habitats offer a hiding place for the different frogs, while reptiles are represented by pond turtles and grass snakes. Tisza river is rich is fish and is a real heaven for anglers. One can find here all the species native to the Tisza river, like carps, pike, catfish, goldfish, trench, walleye, ash and different subspecies of bream. The biggest dwarf catfish were also caught here. One can find large colonies of birds here as well, both passing and nestling species. During a boat trip one can surely encounter night heron, cormorant, grey heron and spoonbill, coot, and a marsh harrier circling high above. With some luck one can also catch a glimpse of the rare osprey as well.
Regarding mammals one must mention the common otter and the beaver that was recently repopulated and became so prolific that it spread to other surface waters too.

Any traveller may call himself lucky if he has the possibility to visit the wonderful world of the Tisza Lake. To get most connected to the nature, one should spent the night in a tent. In the camping of the marina we offer sports with direct access to the water for tents and for RVs. There is a well-equipped common shower and an open-air cooking-barbecuing place as well for our guests.
USEFUL TOOLS
Flashlight with extra batteries, toilet paper, matches (packed in a waterproof bag), multi-purpose pocket knife or knife, candle, mosquito repellent spray, can opener, extra string for tying up the tent and/or clothesline.
Divide your clothes into days and pack each in a separate bag, especially if you are travelling with children. That way you don’t have to dig through your suitcase for a pair of socks, and at the end of the day, dirty clothes can be repacked in the current nylon bag.
Allocate a flashlight for each of the kids (and for ourselves) so there’s no fighting. Children love to play with flashlights and in most cases leave them lit. So make sure you have a sufficient number of spare batteries so that you have enough for replacements.

Embark on one of the country’s best bike adventure! During the 65-70 km, you’ll not only enjoy the spectacular scenery, but after a few kilometres, the chilled drinks, home-style meals and shady terraces of the roadside buffets will be a real refreshment.
